Meeting someone new as an adult can seem difficult. Our routines take us to the same places and, often, conversations barely have time to start.
That's why I'm interested in small gatherings. They allow us to arrive without knowing anyone, share an activity, and discover, perhaps in an unexpected conversation, that we have something in common. There's no need to force a connection or leave each experience with a new friendship.
It's enough to open a space where we can show ourselves as we are. Sometimes, meeting again is the beginning of something. And other times, just one shared afternoon reminds us how good it feels to be in good company.
